Abstract

This study aims to examine the results of writing skills of class VIII students in learning advertising text material. One focus of the study is on the suitability of the application of the learning model and the learning media used, because the inconsistency can affect students' ability to write advertising text effectively. The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of the application of the inquiry learning model assisted by the piktochart website on advertising text writing skills. This study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Rancabungur using a quantitative method of true experimental design, especially the post-test only control group design. The results showed that the use of the inquiry learning model assisted by the piktochart website media had a positive impact on improving advertising text writing skills in class VIII students. This can be seen from the average post-test results of the experimental group which reached 82.97, higher than the control group which obtained an average of 63.9. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25 software, and the results of the data obtained from the use of the inquiry learning model assisted by the piktochart website media significantly influenced the improvement of students' advertising text writing skills.
