Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has significantly influenced early childhood education practices, including the use of web-based visual learning media. Visual media are believed to provide positive stimuli that enhance children’s motivation and engagement during learning activities. This study aims to analyze the positive and negative impacts of using web-based visual learning media on the learning motivation of early childhood students. This research employs a literature review method by examining various scholarly sources, including journals, books, and research articles related to visual learning, educational technology, and children’s learning motivation. The findings indicate that web-based visual media offer several positive impacts, such as increasing learning interest, facilitating material comprehension, fostering curiosity, and improving children’s focus and active participation during lessons. However, the study also identifies potential negative impacts, including the risk of digital dependency, reduced social interaction, and decreased concentration when media use is not properly supervised. Therefore, the utilization of web-based visual learning media should be accompanied by appropriate guidance and strategies that align with the developmental characteristics of young children. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educators and parents in optimizing the use of visual web-based media to support early childhood learning motivation.
