Abstract

Advances in digital technology are driving changes in various economic activities, one of which is the growth of e-commerce in Indonesia. The increasing use of the internet and digital devices has made the public increasingly accustomed to conducting transactions online. This situation not only influences consumption patterns but also has a broader impact on economic activity. This study aims to analyse the impact of e-commerce development on Indonesia’s economic growth. The method employed is qualitative research using a literature review approach, drawing from scientific journals, books, and reports from institutions related to the digital economy. The findings indicate that the development of e-commerce contributes to increasing digital trade activity, expanding market access for businesses particularly especially SMEs and encouraging the use of digital payment services. However, the development of e-commerce also presents several challenges, such as increasingly fierce business competition, the influx of imported products via digital platforms, and data security risks. Therefore, government policy support and the strengthening of the digital ecosystem are required so that the development of e-commerce can support sustainable economic growth.
