This study aims to analyze the relationship between regional development disparities and income inequality in Indonesia, focusing on Papua and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The method used is a literature study with a descriptive approach based on secondary data from official websites and scientific articles. The results of the study show that development disparities in both regions are influenced by limitations in physical and digital infrastructure, low quality of human resources, and limited opportunities for productive employment. These conditions hinder the integration of disadvantaged regions into the national economic system and reinforce the poverty trap, which has an impact on income distribution inequality. In addition, economic growth has not been inclusive, so that its benefits have not been felt equally by the entire community. Therefore, development policies are needed that emphasize equitable infrastructure distribution, improved quality of education and health, and optimization of targeted fiscal interventions. Inclusive and sustainable development strategies are key to reducing income inequality while strengthening national economic stabil.
