Abstract

The development of information and communication technology provides great opportunities for the education sector to present innovative and meaningful learning. One form of innovative learning media that is relevant to the demands of 21st-century learning is the use of digital portfolios. Digital portfolios allow students to systematically, reflectively, and continuously document their learning processes and outcomes. This study aims to develop a digital portfolio as a learning medium for Natural Sciences (IPA) on animal life cycle material and to describe the feasibility and benefits of its use in elementary school learning. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects are elementary school students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, student response questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study show that the developed digital portfolio has a good, attractive, and easy-to-use level of feasibility. In addition, the use of digital portfolios can increase active student engagement and help them understand animal life cycle concerts more concretely and systematically. Thus, digital portfolios can be used as an effective and innovative alternative learning media for science in elementary schools.
