Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the feasibility of animated video-based learning media using the BrainPOP platform on the Human Digestive System material equipped with interactive quizzes for fifth grade elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the needs of 21st-century learning that demands the use of engaging, interactive, and student-centered digital media, especially in Natural Science learning that has many abstract concepts. This research uses a research and development method (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were fifth-grade elementary school students, while data were collected through observation, questionnaires, learning achievement tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed media. The results showed that the animated video-based learning media was categorized as highly feasible based on expert validation in terms of content, design, and media aspects. Student responses indicated a high level of interest and motivation in learning, while learning achievement test results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of the Human Digestive System material after using the media. Therefore, BrainPOP-based animated learning media can be effectively used as an innovative instructional tool to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in elementary science education
