Peran Sektor Agroindustri dalam Mendukung Pembangunan Nasional di Indonesia

The agro-industry sector plays a strategic role in supporting national economic development in Indonesia. Through agricultural processing activities, agro-industry can increase the added value of agricultural commodities while strengthening the linkages between the agricultural and industrial sectors. This study aims to analyze the contribution of the agro-industry sector in increasing the added value of agricultural products, creating jobs, and driving national economic growth. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach through a literature review sourced from scientific journals, books, and official government publications. The results of the study indicate that agro-industry development can increase community income, expand employment opportunities, and strengthen food security through more efficient processing and distribution of agricultural products. In addition, agro-industry also contributes to rural development by utilizing the potential of local resources. However, its development still faces various obstacles such as limited technology, human resource quality, and supporting infrastructure. Therefore, government policy support, increased human resource capacity, and strengthened cooperation between farmers and industry players are needed so that the agro-industry sector can develop optimally and sustainably.
